It’s almost been two and a half months since I entered the blogging realm by hitting ‘publish’ on my very first post and the time has truly has flown by. Soaring on the wings of a gilded angel. Well, that angel is about to get bigger wings and a whole lot more gilded because I’ve been nominated for a Blogger Recognition Award by the lovely Tea and Cake For The Soul! Yes, the ego has truly landed and it is humongous.
I started blogging to reconnect with my love of creative writing and also to perhaps meet a few interesting writers along the way. Blogging is a saturated market so I had and do not have any delusions about many people reading my blog so it’s actually quite motivating and lovely to be recognised in any way for the stuff I’m putting out there. Tea and Cake For The Soul has been reading my posts since more or less day one and has been so incredibly welcoming and helpful in my blogging journey. She writes a lot, from her travels, to recipes, to incredibly helpful life tips (financial and otherwise). She also has a special place in her heart for music and her blog features a lot of her musical tastes as well as interviews with those in the industry. I really implore you guys to give her blog a look and drop her some love because she will return it tenfold.
So apparently, there are some rules to this nomination….

Advice for New Bloggers
As I’m still a ‘new’ blogger myself, I don’t feel informed enough to give you copious hints as I’ll probably discover in a few weeks it was all wrong anyway! However, I will emphasise that consistency is the key. I took part in Blogtober and it was exactly what a developing blog needed – regular posts and a hashtag that connected me to other bloggers. I would say Twitter will also be your best friend for connecting with others in the community – and that connection is key to your success.
Unfortunately, I don’t really know ten bloggers well enough yet but here are some stand-outs I’ve come across so far. These guys all write about interesting things and are all beyond friendly.
I will be tagging the above bloggers on Twitter too, please feel free to follow me here.
